Salicylic acid is a beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) with well-established keratolytic properties - it helps to soften and loosen the bonds between skin cells, making it easier to shed thickened or built-up skin. NCC Health's Salicylic Acid Cream 5% is compounded by our Gold Coast pharmacists at a therapeutic concentration, in a moisturising cream base designed for regular use.

This 5% concentration is suited to localised areas of thickened skin, including:

Calluses and rough patches on feet, elbows, and hands
Plantar hyperkeratosis
Areas of persistent dryness and scaling
Skin conditions where keratolytic therapy has been recommended by a healthcare professional

FAQ

How many times can I use Salicylic Acid Aqueous Cream 5% per day?

It is applied once or twice a day depending upon how the skin of the person being treated will respond. Start with once a day to see what effect it has on the skin.

Can I apply other acne drugs while using this cream?

Yes, but the optimal way is to use an initial treatment, with another treatment added if the skin does not respond to the initial one. If you're not sure, see a dermatologist.

Can this cream cause dryness or irritation of the skin?

Normally, we find Salicylic Acid as an exfoliating agent and we also find it in Salicylic Acid Aqueous Cream 5% which moisturizes as and does the function of an exfoliating agent. But if the skin is sensitive, one should start with applying a small amount of the skin and then slowly increase the amount of the skin that's used.

Is there a type of skin this product can't be used on?

This cream is good for healthy, oily, or dry skin. That said, people with sensitive skin or with nonwheel–sensitive skin should test them out early.

How long will it take me to notice some difference (if any)—hours, days, or weeks?

The scrub starts improving skin complexion in 2 – 4 weeks but if your skin type is different or the acne problem is high you might not see any improvement.
